Uplifting Voices. Building Power. Preserving Culture.

A Nonprofit serving the Somali Bantu and other communities across Washington

Somali Bantu Rising is a nonprofit rooted in the resilience of a community long overlooked and committed to uplifting African immigrant communities across Washington and beyond.

We were born from a deep need: a need to be seen, supported, and self-represented. While our foundation lies in serving Somali Bantu families, our programs are open to all who are facing similar struggles of displacement, marginalization and cultural disconnection.

We provide mentorship for youth, mental health support, family literacy programs, cultural preservation, and safe spaces for healing and growth. Whether someone needs guidance, community or opportunity Somali Bantu Rising is here to stand beside them.

We believe that unity starts with understanding and progress begins when our communities rise together without leaving anyone behind.

This is not just about us. It’s about all of us.
We are not here to blend in. We are here to rise together.
